Former Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) candidate for Central Westmoreland Faye Reid Jacobs has died.

News of Reid-Jacobs’ death was confirmed by the police who said that the former politician allegedly committed suicide by injecting a substance into her body.

She was found by relatives on Sunday, May 8 at 6:30 pm at her Mountainside Boulevard, Long Mountain, St. Andrew home.

Faye Reid- Jacobs in 2015 tendered her resignation as the party’s candidate in the Central Westmoreland seat after electoral defeat by the People’s National Party’s Dwayne Vaz.

Reid-Jacobs was a financial consultant and the sister of the late Pauline Reid, former President of the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce.
