Veteran singer Stevie Wonder sang a rendition of Prince’s “Purple Rain” on Friday at a Los Angeles concert celebrating the life of the iconic singer, who died on April 21 at the age of 57, TIME reports.

In an interview shortly after Prince’s death, Wonder appeared to choke up when asked about performing a Prince song, but on Friday he serenaded the the crowd that gathered to remember the artiste.

“I think the only thing we can do in the spirit of Prince is to learn to truly love one another and come together,” Wonder said.

“And we can’t just talk about it, we gotta be about it.” He added.
