“To all Christians and non Christians, who’s been coming up against me and my ministry. Congratulations on your mission to take me down. You’ve successfully done so,” was the announcement made by former Queen of Dancehall, now Minister, Marion Hall, aka Lady Saw, on Tuesday, February 8, 2022.
“I’ve decided to walk away from my calling, and will no longer be doing any preaching on any social media platform. May the Lord forgive me.” Her Instagram post continued.
This announcement came after one of her Facebook sermons which were done on January 23, where she stated that Shenseea, Jada kingdom, Ishawna, and Queen of Dancehall Spice were in a “race to hell.”
“I was Lady Saw. I, who was the baddis baddis, in Dancehall, who originate slackness weh dem call slack, which is I sang about sex…but this gone overboard now, Jeezas Christ…” she stated in her sermon.
Her comments came after the release of Shenseea’s music video titled Lick.
“Shenseea, I don’t believe that’s really you; you don’t look happy that way. Your smiles look fake…” Minister Hall stated.
Hall got baptized in 2015 and in 2020 she established her church, the Holy Ghost Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ, online.
Of course, her announcement evokes many comments on social media. On Instagram

Comedian_.clarke posted “Mi can’t believe Minister mek dem draw har out.. ”
Tokyojayce “Her true “calling” is dancehall …. I’m here for it.”
Meanwhile, Reggae Sumfest executive Skatta Burrell, in an Instagram post asked Hall to consider performing at Reggae Sumfest this year.
“Lady Saw please come to #reggaesumfest and Minister to the audience. I believe you alone can quell the crime wave currently sweeping this island starting with the city of Montego Bay….. this July is the right time for a season of prayer and worship,” he captioned the post.
In one of his comments under his post, Skatta said:
“Lady Saw is a Dancehall icon and deserves to be celebrated on the biggest platform for our music. She’s got soo much more to offer and (don’t) deserve to be limited to any Gospel audience. We welcome Her with open arms to deliver whatever song she wishes to perform because she’s great at any and everything she does on the stage. ”

Hall, now 52, started performing at the age of 15 and has popular hits such as If Him Lef, Good Man, I’ve Got Your Man, and Man Is The Least. She released her first album in 1994 titled Lover Girl. She also won a Grammy Award for her feature on No Doubt’s Gold-certified song Underneath It All. After being baptized, she released two Reggae gospel albums, When God Speaks in 2016 followed by His Grace in 2018.
