Kid Rock Sentenced to Probation

A court sentenced musician Kid Rock to 12 months probation and six hours of anger management counseling for his involvement in a post-concert fight at a restaurant near Atlanta last year.

Rock, who was born Robert J. Ritchie, was also sentenced on Monday to 80 hours of community service and fined $1000, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Web site.

The entertainer pleaded no contest at a court in DeKalb county, Georgia, to one count of simple battery.

Four other counts of battery were dropped over the incident in which he allegedly punched and kicked a customer at a Waffle House restaurant in DeKalb county east of Atlanta in October.

That month, Rock’s album “Rock N Roll Jesus” debuted at No. 1, a first for the Michigan-born musician. In May it was certified platinum, according to the artist’s Web site.
